If you've been thinking about owning a home in Invermere, we'd love to show you around!

We're hosting a Thanksgiving Sunday Open House at the Pineridge Mountain Villas, and everyone is welcome to stop by.

The Villas offer a comfortable way to enjoy mountain living, whether you're looking to downsize, relocate to Invermere, or find a second home where the family can gather for weekends and holidays.

Come explore the floor plans, see the modern interiors and learn about the different home options available, including designs with or without basements and walkout layouts.

While you're here, take some time to explore the Pineridge Mountain community. With its beautiful mountain setting, walking trails and recreational amenities, it's easy to picture what everyday life could look like here.

There's no need to book an appointment for the open house. Just stop by between 11 AM and 4 PM on Sunday, October 11.

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this Thanksgiving weekend?

Invermere's 7th Annual Great Scarecrow Competition and Tour is underway, with creative scarecrows popping up around town.

Local businesses, residents and community groups have put together their best scarecrow displays, and visitors can follow the official tour map to find them.

You can even vote for your favourites!

It's a fun excuse to explore Invermere, visit local shops and see what the community has come up with this year.

Find the tour map on the District of Invermere website.

4. Catch a Columbia Valley Rockies Hockey Game

When: Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 at 7 PM

Where: Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena, Invermere

Hockey season is back, and the Columbia Valley Rockies have two home games scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend.

On Friday evening, the Rockies take on the Revelstoke Grizzlies, followed by a Saturday night matchup against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.

If you're looking for something to do after a day exploring Invermere, head to the arena, cheer on the home team and enjoy some local hockey.

5. Get Outside and Enjoy the Fall Colours

You don't need an organized event to enjoy Thanksgiving in Invermere. October is one of the prettiest times of year to explore the Columbia Valley.

Take a walk along Lake Windermere at Kinsmen Beach, wander through downtown Invermere or head out for a hike to enjoy the changing colours.

For something a little different, explore the walking and hiking trails around Pineridge Mountain. It's a great way to enjoy some fresh mountain air without travelling far from town.

Bring a warm jacket, a camera and a little extra time. Fall days in Invermere are worth slowing down for.

Bonus: Try to catch the Northern Lights! You can view them easily from the Pineridge Mountain recreation site with no obstructions.

6. Enjoy Thanksgiving in the Columbia Valley

After a day at the market, exploring the trails or visiting the open house, settle in for a good meal at one of Invermere's local restaurants.

Thanksgiving weekend is a popular time for visitors, so it's worth checking restaurant hours and making reservations in advance, especially if you're hoping for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Or keep things simple. Pick up something delicious from a local bakery, take a scenic drive and spend the evening relaxing with family and friends.
